I probably won't have hours and hours tonight, but I ended up having exactly that yesterday. I ran a quick Black Talon grouping to get some Seasonal Points. BAM! 200 cartel coins! I'm surprised that another 200 are in reach before I run out of opportunity rack up more seasonal points, so I will probably get those tonight or at worst tomorrow. That will give me more than enough to create one more new character. I almost deleted Embric Stane to make room for a new character, but didn't after all again. I probably won't. I've already got five characters sitting at "just started", with another one that I'll create this weekend, another one I'll create early next month when I get my monthly cartel coins again, and then... assuming I'm still doing it for another few months, another one again for the next two months after that. After that, I'm out of plans for new characters... but that's enough. I literally just started an agent, Saxon Hettar, and I have another agent waiting. I've got a trooper and a hunter in "Just Started" status (which really means that I haven't quite started) and I've got one more of each planned. Different combat specs, of course, but still. That's while I've got two agents, two hunters and two troopers already "In Play" not even counting these "Just Started" ones. This is why I want to finish my Wave II characters as much as I can before I really start playing these, and even some of my Wave III characters. Two of the new characters count as Wave III, even though their more recent; they're just basic characters using "unorthodox" classes. Wave IV is two repeated characters, i.e., same origin story and class as characters from earlier (Goth Severax is a Marauder Sith Warrior, like M'at Thew from Wave I and Iakar Kodo is a Powertech Hunter like Graggory, also from Wave I.) Wave V is just more of Wave III, but since they come after Wave IV, they had to bump the number. There are only two Wave IV characters, and so far just one Wave V character, but the next four I have planned are all part of Wave V. Realistically, once I get done with Wave II, I don't know if it matters to track waves anymore. At this point, there's just aging, and Wave III and Wave V are identical; Wave IV characters are only different on a technicality.
Anyway, that's rambly. Here's some images of Wulf Hengest, a Wave III hunter. One of my first Wave III characters, actually—one of the very first concepts that I was excited to play when the changes that allowed for Wave III to exist was playing a vanguard hunter who specialized in using the bowcaster as his weapon. At the time, weapon customization in Outfitter didn't even exist yet, so his weapon literally was the bowcaster, and outfitter didn't have any weapon customizations because it didn't need any. Just very recently, I went back and actually added his weapon to outfitter so I can use whatever "real" weapon gives me the best stats without worrying about it. But I haven't played a ton of him recently, or most of my other Wave III characters, except for a bit of Mirabeau and Vash. I did play a bit of Vash on Nar Shaddaa last night, just to take a break from all of the Phovos playing I've been doing. And then I remembered that all my "Just Started" characters, which I ESC'ed out of their opening cut-scene, so that they technically haven't started their story at all, are still supposed to be running around doing Heroics every week and that they hadn't done them yet this week. Five characters. It took a while. Goth is probably the fastest because he's on Korriban and they only have two Heroics. He went from level 19 to level 20. Actually, I think all of the "Just Started" characters advanced one level, but the ones on Hutta do four heroics, and the ones on Ord Mantell do three. (I don't have any currently on Tython, although I do have Gändalf Greyhame on Tython. He's "In Play" rather than "Just Started" but as long as he's parked there, he should do it every week too. He's also only level 21 even though he's actually played the entire Tython story.) I wonder how long I should do this before quitting. It would be pretty ridiculous to hit max level, for instance, before actually starting the story. I don't think that will happen, but it won't be long before many of them are at level 30. When I get there, should I keep doing more? Or does that kick off a migration from "Just Started" to "In Play" and I should start doing story missions? Karr Tanus is the highest level "Just Started" character at level 26 right now.
I honestly probably should have done this already. I just don't really like playing girl characters as much in a story that's clearly a classic boy's adventure tale. As you might notice from the last name and race selection, I'm actually going to suppose that at least a few of these characters are literal sisters to some of my previous characters. Hele Kell is sister to Elemer Kell, for instance, and both Jedi Knights (although Elemer is a Sentinel and Hele will be a Sith Assassin by class.) Verrell Hengest will be sister to Beorn Hengest (but no relation to Wulf Hengest. They're both Republic zabraks while Wulf, as seen above, is just a human.) And Wynnifred Tane will be Anstal's sister. Given that I kind of sorta assume that Vash and Vant Galaide (Gavenk) are brothers, maybe I oughta make one of the girls a sister of them too. Either change the race of one of the cyborgs... or not. Humans can have cyborg sisters, after all, since all cyborgs are humans.
