Wave II and Wave III

I have eight total characters in Wave II. Four of them have finished and maxed level, and are in "semi-retirement": Taul Kajak, Hutran Thanatos, Vant Galaide and Anstal Tane. In, I think, that order.

I have four who remain. Phovos Maledict is on Hoth and is about to hit level 75. I don't really need to keep doing exploration and faction stories with him; I'll almost certainly hit max level before finishing his class story even if I stop doing them entirely right now. If, by some weird mathematical error I do not, do so, I'll be so close that I can just ride him up to Ilum and start that to finish, or run Directive 7, or a few extra Heroics, or something, and get him there anyway. I've already picked up a bunch of exploration missions and the faction story on Hoth, so I'll probably finish it while on that planet anyway. Anstal and Vant both hit max level on Hoth, so I imagine that he will too. He's effectively "done" after a little push to get him there. But when I logged back in, he was in the mid-30s for level, and had only done a few missions on Balmorra.

Revecca Arden is about the same, as is Embric Stane, although he's effectively the "orphan" of Wave II that I ignore and don't care about. Elemer Kell is the last Wave II character, and he's on Nar Shaddaa and in the lower 40s for level.

Given that a couple of weeks or so of more-or-less concentrated effort on Phovos Maledict got him from pretty early days to nearing retirement, I'm kind of thinking that I should do the same for Revecca and Elemer. And I'm still trying to decide if I want to just delete Embric or not. He's basically just an uglier, bigger version of Vant. If I do do that, then Wave II will be done. Regardless of what I do with Embric, he won't really factor into my calculus for this. He will remain a Wave orphan. In fact, I'm probably going to stop calling him Wave II altogether and just call him Wave N or something, and change his official status to "On Hold". If I play a bit with him here and there, it's not part of a concentrated effort; I just do it when I feel like it, and he advances very slowly if at all.  (In fact, I'm making exactly that change now to my file.) That means that after I finish Phovos Maledict, I'm much closer to finishing Wave II than I thought, and I should just concentrate on finishing it before picking up my Wave III characters again.

I do have Wave III characters are who farther along than some of these Wave II characters (except Phovos) but they can mostly "rest" while Wave II finishes up. I may do a few missions with them just to break up the routine, but only a little bit here and there, I think. I'm not going to focus on advancing any of them until Phovos is done, and Revecca and Elemer are finished. I'll be honest with you, though—after playing three Force users in a row, I'll be glad to get back to my tech characters again. Gael Heckett and Mirabeau Tane are the most advanced of the Wave III characters, but I'll probably spend a little time on Codon Veile, Haul Romund, and especially Vash Galaide after my Sith and Jedi Wave III are done. Wave III is the biggest wave of characters, and includes two characters that haven't even officially started (and one that just started as I restarted playing again). Those five mentioned are the ones that right now it makes the most sense to me to play, but that's not even quite half of them. To get just a bit of variety, I should play Gändalf Greyhame as my consular, because that's the story I'm the least familiar with of all the stories. But mechanically, he's identical to Revecca. We'll see.

Here's my list of Wave III characters, and their status:

  • Saxon Hettar - pureblood dirty fighting gunslinger Imperial agent level 40 just arrived on Dromund Kaas
  • Vash Galaide - human advanced prototype powertech Imperial agent level 48 on Balmorra
  • Gändalf Greyhame - human lightning sorcerer Jedi Consular level 21 on Tython; although he's finished and could go to Coruscant right now.
  • Beorn Hengest - zabrak (Republic) virulence sniper bounty hunter level 35, on Dromund Kaas
  • Wulf Hengest (no relation) - human tactics vanguard bounty hunter level 40 on Balmorra (I think)
  • Haul Romund - human innovative ordnance mercenary smuggler level 43 on Taris (?) I think... Maybe Nar Shaddaa?
  • Gael Heckett - cyborg pyrotech powertech smuggler level 69 on... Nar Shaddaa? Wow, my memory of where some of these guys are isn't good. Maybe I need to add planet to the tracker... It'll be a bit of a pain to track, but probably worth it)
  • Mirabeau Tane - cyborg saboteur gunslinger Republic trooper level 71 on Alderaan
  • Codon Veile - chiss engineering sniper Republic trooper level 38 on... Taris, I think. Maybe still on Coruscant
  • Vandal Guent - human plasmatech vanguard smuggler level 24 on Ord Mantell
  • Karr Tanus - rattataki shield tech powertech Republic trooper level 26 on Ord Mantell
Anyway, that's my status update. I've mostly quit on the season. I think that there's one more week, but I'm not busting my hump to max out what I can get out of it this time; we'll just see what happens. Given the objectives this week, I'll probably hit them anyway. When I get my next cartel coin grant, which isn't for another month almost now, I'll buy another character slot and create one more of my "in the hopper" characters, probably Kenth Odon, the Yondu look-alike trooper. If I somehow have enough to get two, which is unlikely but not impossible, I'll also add Gaul Pavenk, the red bounty hunter, which will probably be the Mirialan race, but maybe a pureblood instead. As a dark horse, maybe I'll even do an Imperial zabrak. We'll see. He'll be my gunslinger hunter, one that I'm surprised that I don't already have—although I do already have a character of all three gunslinger combat specs, so he'll be yet another duplicate of one of them. I haven't decided for sure which spec to play, but it'll probably be saboteur, like Mirabeau Tane.

There is some NPC named Gaul on Alderaan, but he also fits in my notable pattern of naming characters after Celtic or Germanic barbarian tribes; I have a Gael, a Vandal, a Goth, and a Saxon already, you probably noticed.

Anyway, here's some of the characters we've talked about in today's update, just for fun.

Vant on Coruscant, Karr Tanus on Ord Mantell, and Vash on his ship

Gael in a cantina on Taris, Phovos dancing in the cantina on the fleet, and Wulf on his ship
